This spring season, key pieces borrowed from the past are making a large impact as the latest fashion trends. 90s corset belts, 80s pouf shoulders and 70s embroidery can be seen on fashion forward girls like Kendal Jenner and Gigi Hadid, adding a fun touch to otherwise simpler looks. We take a peek at how the looks transitioned from the runway, to our favorite celebrities and lastly, to the girl in the hip coffee shop who always seems to have the best outfits.

Corseted belts: Seen on the runway as layering essentials over suits and coats, they can be worn over oversized tees and shirt dresses for an edgier look that’s bound to define your waist.

80s tailoring: Out with minimalism and in with the 80s pouf shoulder that’s been cleaned up in a sharp way! The runways brought back dresses with shoulder pads and cotton shirts with ruffles and large, round shoulders. Our favorite looks include this trend being worn with a favorite pair of jeans or layered over a mini skirt.

Embroidery is back and not just on your pillows – the trend was first spotted on the runways at Dolce and Gabbana, covering the models from head to toe in colorful flowers, emojis and lettering. Lately, we’ve been loving it on leather jackets and our favorite mom jeans

Fishnets! In any way, shape or form! Fishnets and sheer stretchy shirts seem to be the favorite layering go to piece from Kylie to Beyonce, and this trend isn’t stopping anytime soon! Urban Outfitters doesn’t seem to be able to keep its shelves stocked with this 90s favorite. We love how high wasted fishnets can spice up any pair of ripped jeans or add an extra layer under a favorite slip dress.

And lastly, just like the relaunch of Juicy Couture, another nostalgic fashion trend has been brought back thanks to Rihanna’s Puma collaboration – slides. From fur covered slides to the latest glitter trend, they are a fun way to accessorize a summery outfit.
